Our Referee Academy members were recently treated to the second live webinar and Q&A event.

Our plan is to deliver at least one webinar each month allowing our academy members the opportunity to tune in to a detailed presentation online and then have the opportunity to ask appropriate questions to stimulate a live debate.

Listeners from many parts of the world tuned in and the questions were both stimulating and interesting.

Our latest Webinar covered the topic of Body Language and with the appropriate coaching advice we covered a topic rarely discussed.

Former English Premier League Referee and PGMOL Coach Roger Dilkes sat alongside me and the two of us were bringing over a century of refereeing experience to the table. Sal Saba the interviewer ensured that the presentation flowed smoothly and that we answered the questions that were asked.

We discussed the need to adopt an appropriate carding technique. The need to hold onto those arm signals a little longer in order to enhance authority and the art of positive communication.

I wonder if you have considered joining our Referee Academy and joining us and other members each month to discuss the topic that we are covering.

Next month we will look at those difficult challenges and how we can aid you to achieve a more accurate decision making process. Yes – Careless, Reckless and Reckless with Excessive force clips will be shown and you can then join in the debate with other referees, assistant referees and assessors from around the World.

The following month the topic will be the Denial of an Obvious Goal Scoring Opportunity (DOGSO).

Then following his return from Columbia and San Diego, former FIFA World Cup and Premier League Assistant Referee Glenn Turner will cover Law 11 Offside.

You will be able to listen to Glenn’s techniques for holding his concentration in addition to listening to how he achieved international status thanks to his high level of decision-making accuracy.
