Rugby Super League referee Robert Hicks says football ‘has to come into the 21st century’ on the use of technology.
Hicks, one of only six full-time Rugby League referees, is also an avid follower of football. He is puzzled that the game is fighting shy of the video ref system that operates successfully in both codes of rugby.
“I think there’s a reluctance to do it,” said Hicks.
