Joining Alan Biggs in The Ref Show studio this week were former Sheff Wed, West Brom and Leicester manager Gary Megson and ex referees chief of the PGMOL Keith Hackett to scrutinise another weekend of Premier League and Football league action.

Brighton manager Chris Hughton felt his side had two big penalty shouts at the AMEX Stadium as his side were beaten 4-0 by a much improved Chelsea, whilst Newcastle United manager Rafa Benitez thought Man City’s penalty was soft in his side’s 3-1 loss at the Etihad. The panel give their reaction to those incidents as well as discussing the performances of Lee Probert, Chris Kavanagh and Kevin Friend amongst others.

Also on topic was the much debated introduction of the the VAR to English football in recent weeks with the panel giving their take on its use so far. Neil Swarbrick will be on duty as VAR again in the Carabao Cup semi-final this Wednesday with Arsenal hosting Chelsea. Follow the game LIVE on RefCam with live text commentary.

The show was filmed before the team heard of the passing away of former England captain Jimmy Armfield. You Are The Ref are saddened by the news and our thoughts are with his family at this time.
