In the studio this week Alan Biggs welcomed former General Manager of the PGMOL Keith Hackett and ex Sheff Wed and England midfielder Carlton Palmer to discuss the biggest refereeing topics that dominated the headlines in another splendid year of football.

2017 saw plenty of debate and controversy with the introduction of VAR throughout the world and with 2018 set to see the technology used for the first time in England, as early as The FA Cup 3rd round, what do our panel think about its use so far and will it be successful?

There’s also discussion on the topic of simulation which has reared its head on plenty of occasions this season so far, as well as more on the crackdown on grappling, a notion panelist Keith Hackett took issue with earlier this year.

The Ref Show is back for a new year round up next Tuesday 2nd January and returns to its normal time-slot from Monday 15th January.
