Referee Craig Pawson had a very good first half, and continued that into the second.

Right up until around 82 minutes from when he seemed to lack pace and began missing foul challenges through poor positioning.

Fitness should not be an issue from such a young man, but it makes me wonder if he has the stamina?

GT at 2017-02-25 20:32:46

It ends all square at Vicarage Road, but 11-10 in players finishing the game following Antonio’s red card.

GT at 2017-02-25 20:31:41

Full Time

GT at 2017-02-25 20:31:12

Massive calls for a penalty kick for Watford…they claim handball but it isn’t one.

Then somehow Success missed a sitter…only to then hear the final whistle go!

GT at 2017-02-25 20:29:43

Success gets the foul from Craig Pawson…but I can’t help thinking he only gave it because hew turned down one just before it from Deeney

GT at 2017-02-25 20:28:36

As soon as he enters the action, Fernandes is injured.

He took a knock to the knee but is ok to continue

GT at 2017-02-25 20:27:35

Substitute for West Ham…Lanzini off for Fernandes as we enter three minutes of added time

GT at 2017-02-25 20:26:51

I do like a little attention to detail…has anyone else noticed that Holebas’ shirt shows his name as Cholevas?

He is listed with the Premier League as Holebas

GT at 2017-02-25 20:24:37

Two minutes to go…

86 minutes

GT at 2017-02-25 20:22:55

and there is the decision I thought may be coming.

Antonio gets a second yellow for a deliberate handball.

No doubt whatsoever in that being correct

Yellow CardRed Card

83 minutes

GT at 2017-02-25 20:19:36

….and it is!

Holebas gets the yellow card for a poor challenge on Lanzini

GT at 2017-02-25 20:18:50

That has to be a caution…

GT at 2017-02-25 20:17:26

Watford make another change.

Success comes on for Niang

GT at 2017-02-25 20:16:39

Just 10 minutes to go

I have a feeling there is still something in this game

79 minutes

GT at 2017-02-25 20:15:17

He saw that one from Doucoure though…a deserved yellow card for the Watford man Yellow Card

GT at 2017-02-25 20:14:16

Craig is in danger of this one getting away from him.

He is no longer staying close to play and, as such, is missing fouls now.

Is it a fitness problem for the Sheffield whistler?

GT at 2017-02-25 20:12:42

15 minutes to go.

Will we get a winner?

GT at 2017-02-25 20:11:56

A least it has brought a smile to the face of Slaven Bilic !

GT at 2017-02-25 20:10:34

….and what a goal it was.

Antonio’s shot hits BOTH  posts before coming back out to Ayew who slots home into an empty net

73 minutes

GT at 2017-02-25 20:09:28

GOAL! from Ayew

GT at 2017-02-25 20:07:33

@youaretheref In general Pawson is awful, most overrated ref in PL. Cannot comment on tonight’s match, don’t have BT sports.

Ken clearly isn’t a fan of Craig’s…

Pawson hasn’t had a the best of season’s Ken, but he has done well so far tonight

69 minutes

GT at 2017-02-25 20:06:11

Tom Cleverley (West Ham) follows him into the book after kicking away the ball at a free kick

Yellow Card

68 minutes

GT at 2017-02-25 20:05:12

That’s one too many fouls by Niang, and he sees yellow for a cynical trip

Correct decision Yellow Card

GT at 2017-02-25 20:03:49

Antonio makes a meal of the slightest bit of contact by Britos, but Craig saw it as a foul.

Free kick for West Ham

65 minutes

GT at 2017-02-25 20:01:35

West Ham make their first change with Ayew taking over from Snodgrass as the Hammers seek the equaliser

GT at 2017-02-25 20:01:03

Poor challenge from Kouyate on Niang…deserved the caution he got Yellow Card

GT at 2017-02-25 19:59:03

The game has gone up in tempo and temperature.

Craig needs to step up with it and impose himself

GT at 2017-02-25 19:58:05

Graham Scott has his hands full in the technical area.

Slaven Bilic feels the world is against him and his side at the moment

GT at 2017-02-25 19:57:11

Good to see Craig allow that challenge by Deeney on the West Ham ‘keeper.

Nothing wrong with it

GT at 2017-02-25 19:56:17

The West Ham man has a case for a foul – he was being held back – but it was a free kick foul, not a penalty kick.

GT at 2017-02-25 19:55:23

West Ham’s Cresswell is livid at not receiving a penalty kick as the ball was crossed into the Watford penalty area.

He went to ground under a challenge but the referee was watching the active play area, not Cresswell

GT at 2017-02-25 19:51:27

@youaretheref @no1lino To be honest with you Glenn i think Antonio was lucky not to receive a red card after a late challenge with Behrami

A difference of opinion from Luke, and it’s a fair point he raises. The challenge was very late, but for me was not quite enough for a red card.

Thoughts anyone? Contact us on Twitter @youaretheref

GT at 2017-02-25 19:47:46

Kouytate wants a penalty kick as he goes to ground.

Niang had his arm around the West Ham man, but I believe Kouyate pulled the Watford player first

No penalty.

GT at 2017-02-25 19:45:19

Neither side has started this half well, but the same cannot be said of Craig.

He is missing nothing.

GT at 2017-02-25 19:42:53

A minute in, and Craig spots a foul by West Ham.

Good call, referee

GT at 2017-02-25 19:41:12

Here we go for the second half.

More of the same please, referee…

Watford get the action going

GT at 2017-02-25 19:28:16

Watford go in at half time with a deserved one goal lead.

Referee Craig Pawson has had a steady, but good, game.

He had one major decision to make after just 2 minutes, the penalty kick for Watford, and he called it absolutely correctly.

GT at 2017-02-25 19:26:05

That’s our lot for the fist half…

Half Time

55 minutes

GT at 2017-02-25 19:25:35

That was very naughty by Antonio…

He left a lot on Behrami ans the Watford man cleared the ball.

Deserved the yellow card he got Yellow Card

GT at 2017-02-25 19:24:14

…the play gets under way again

GT at 2017-02-25 19:23:36

That treatment for Zarate took around 7 minutes, so we are still playing with over 53 minutes having passed

The Watford man looks in real distress, having to be stretchered off and taking on oxygen

YATR wish him well for a speedy recovery

GT at 2017-02-25 19:17:54

We will have an extended period of additional time though as Watford’s Zarate needs some attention…

In fact they will make a change with the new signing having to leave the action.

Doucoure takes over.

GT at 2017-02-25 19:15:31

That’s the end of the regular 45 minutes, just two added minutes to go on

GT at 2017-02-25 19:13:13

Craig is right on the spot to see Deeney go to ground under a challenge by Obiang.

No foul given….and correctly so.

It was just one of those areas of contact which happen in a football match

GT at 2017-02-25 19:10:55

We are into the final 5 minutes of the opening half

GT at 2017-02-25 19:09:41

Watford are racking up the fouls now, and someone may well go into the book for persistent infringement soon.

They are committing too many small, but play-breaking fouls

GT at 2017-02-25 19:07:36

Daryl Janmaat (Watford) can have no complaints at becoming the first player in Craig’s book.

That was a poor, late challenge on Antonio

Yellow Card

GT at 2017-02-25 19:06:14

Clumsy challenge by Niang, results in a free kick to West Ham

GT at 2017-02-25 19:05:34

Good lining from Jake Collin.

He was alert to see Deeney in an offside position

GT at 2017-02-25 19:03:58

Small foul by Deeney on Fonte, but Craig spotted it well, and as no advantage came for West Ham he correctly gave the free kick

GT at 2017-02-25 19:01:31

Nothing to really challenge referee Pawson in this one, as predicted.

Still….he can only referee what is in front of him, and let’s face it…there are some referees out there who would have made a hash of it!

Keep up the good work, Craig

GT at 2017-02-25 18:57:02

Good spot to see Antonio foul his marker.

Craig is right on it.

GT at 2017-02-25 18:56:17

…and again as Watford break!

Craig looks full of confidence today

GT at 2017-02-25 18:54:58

More excellent advantage applied as West Ham break…

GT at 2017-02-25 18:52:41

Some may wonder why Craig didn’t apply the advantage clause there as Zarate was fouled, but Craig appreciated the Watford man was injured and required treatment, so he correctly stopped play and awarded the free kick.

More good work, referee.

GT at 2017-02-25 18:49:35

Good work by Craig.

He looked for an advantage as Watford tried to break from defence, but nothing came for therm so he brought back play and correctly awarded the free kick following a small pull back by the West Ham player

GT at 2017-02-25 18:46:35

Craig got caught on his heels a bit there as West Ham broke swiftly, but he put in the hard work and sprinted back into position

GT at 2017-02-25 18:43:50

After that flurry of action in the first two minutes the game has settled down nicely, and Craig is moulding into play nicely.

He isn’t blowing up for every little contact, instead he’s letting play go on, which players and supporters like to see.

Well done, referee

GT at 2017-02-25 18:39:55

Craig’s movement looks better today.

he is breaking with play and staying close to the action.

Keep up that work rate, referee

GT at 2017-02-25 18:37:01

What a start we’ve had!

West Ham need to reset and try to get back into this one early.

Craig looks relaxed today, which is a good sign

2 minutes

GT at 2017-02-25 18:34:28

GOAL! which Troy Deeney puts into the bottom right hand corner.

Excellent early work from Craig…shows he is switched on right from the start, as he spots a clumsy challenge and correctly gave the spot kick

GT at 2017-02-25 18:32:46

Less than two minutes in and Craig has a big call to make….and makes it very well indeed.

Penalty to Watford

GT at 2017-02-25 18:30:15

Here we go…West Ham take the kick-off and get us underway…

GT at 2017-02-25 18:25:28

It’s almost time for kick-off at Vicarage Road.

GT at 2017-02-25 18:20:19

As for our officials…

Sheffield-based whistler Craig Pawson takes charge of this one, and will be hoping to impress West Ham’s Bilic, who blamed him for his side’s failure to beat Arsenal last season.

Watford will also be running a keen eye over Craig as they have lost the last three games he has refereed for them, including last season’s FA Cup semi-final.

This one shouldn’t present too many challenges to Craig though, who has been under the spotlight of late, and offers him the opportunity to restore some faith in his abilities.

Everyone at YATR hopes he and his team of Jake Collin and Ian Hussin (assistant referees) and Graham Scott (4th official) have a trouble-free game.

Sit back and enjoy this one with us…I’m looking forward to it.

GT at 2017-02-25 18:16:07

Hi everyone, and welcome to today’s live Refcam commentary game.

Watford against West Ham kicks off a busy three days of coverage for all of our Refcam followers.

The Hornets have come through a tricky period for them, and their relegation fears seem to have passed as they sit in relative comfort, some 9 points above the drop zone.

Talisman Troy Deeney is back amongst the goals and has recently been joined by M’Baye Niang who scored on his debut in the win over Burnley.

Most believe Watford will have too much to offer West Ham and will take away their second 3-point result against The Hammers, having come from two goals down to beat them earlier this season.

However, West Ham supremo Slaven Bilic knows his side is still underachieving and he will have them fired up and ready to go for this one.

Although they sit a point ahead of their opponents today the pressure is showing on Bilic, who was fined £8,000 a little over a week ago following improper conduct in the game against West Brom which saw him sent to the stands by referee Michael Oliver.

Having accepted The FA charge, he will still be available to take his place in the technical area for this one.

So, will it be an expected win for the home side or can The Hammers pull off a shock result?

Let us know who you believe will be triumphant by contacting us on Twitter @youaretheref
