Well refereed and controlled by all of the officials today.

Everyone can leave White Hart Lane happy with their contributions.

A fantastic local derby.

Well controlled by our officials today.

Yes, there were obviously mistakes from all three, but nothing which changed the result of the game, and that is always objective number one.

Well done to everyone today, who contributed to a really enjoyable contest.

GT at 2015-02-07 15:39:08

Game over and it’s Spurs who take all the points, move above their North London rivals and give their manager his first win against their bitter rivals.

GT at 2015-02-07 15:36:36

Kane lets himself down a little by simulating a foul.

Well spotted by Atkinson, who isn’t fooled the man-of-the-match

7th caution of the game as Bentaleb sees yellow Yellow Card

GT at 2015-02-07 15:34:20

GT at 2015-02-07 15:33:54

Four added minutes to go on

GT at 2015-02-07 15:32:28

Arsenal make one last throw of the dice as Akpom replaces Coquelin with only one minute plus added time to go.

GT at 2015-02-07 15:30:53

What a fantastic header from the man-of-the-moment.

He was at full stretch as the ball looked to be going over his head, but he not only made contact with the ball but also guided it perfectly beyond the hapless Arsenal ‘keeper.

Take a bow, Harry Kane…

GT at 2015-02-07 15:29:19

GOAL!

Kane AGAIN!!

GT at 2015-02-07 15:28:58

A poor and unwanted advantage given by Atkinson for Spurs.

Deep in their won half with little up in attack, I am sure they would have preferred the free kick

GT at 2015-02-07 15:27:40

That’s 6 cautions today for the Yorkshire referee

GT at 2015-02-07 15:27:17

Yellow card for Giroud as he leaves a boot in on Mason.

Good call, Atko Yellow Card

GT at 2015-02-07 15:25:39

An embarrassing fall in the penalty area by Mertesaker.

The huge Arsenal centre back hits the deck after having his finger pulled!

GT at 2015-02-07 15:24:16

We enter the last 10 minutes  and this is where our referees need to step up and keep on their mettle.

There will be at least one big decision to make…

GT at 2015-02-07 15:22:55

Mason finds his way into Atko’s book for delaying the restart of play

Correct decision Yellow Card

GT at 2015-02-07 15:21:16

Walcott is the latest Arsenal change as he replaces Welbeck, with Arsenal going for the winner

GT at 2015-02-07 15:18:26

Chadli comes on for Spurs in place of Dembele with just 15 minutes to go

GT at 2015-02-07 15:15:42

But the Spurs man puts his effort over the bar

GT at 2015-02-07 15:15:04

Free kick to Eriksen as Giroud makes a poor challenge in a very dangerous position for Spurs

GT at 2015-02-07 15:13:05

Harry Leonard makes his first mistake of the game as he incorrectly flags Lamella offside in a good attacking position for Spurs

GT at 2015-02-07 15:11:08

Cazorla is replaced by Rosicky for Arsenal

GT at 2015-02-07 15:10:10

Lamella hits Monreal on the head with his arm.

Atkinson gives nothing.

GT at 2015-02-07 15:09:24

Atkinson has a call to make here as arm was swung…

GT at 2015-02-07 15:07:52

Fantastic double save by Ospina.

The second attempt would not have counted though as Kane was correctly awarded offside.

This really is an excellent game

GT at 2015-02-07 15:04:18

30 minutes to go in a pulsating local derby match.

Which way will this one go?

GT at 2015-02-07 15:02:46

It’s all Spurs at the moment.

Chance after chance being created as they batter the Arsenal defence.

The only let-up comes following a correct offside call by Harry Leonard

GT at 2015-02-07 15:00:44

The Spurs  man notches yet another goal in an incredible season for the Spurs forward.

That’s 21 for the season….and it’s only February!

GT at 2015-02-07 14:59:34

GOAL!

Harry Kane

GT at 2015-02-07 14:59:05

Ref and assistant completely in tune there as they agree on an Arsenal throw-in.

Good teamwork

GT at 2015-02-07 14:57:30

Correctly so as he was nowhere near playing the ball, only the Spurs forward.

More good work from Harry Leonard as he led Atkinson on that decision

GT at 2015-02-07 14:56:36

Koscielny sees yellow Yellow Card

GT at 2015-02-07 14:55:11

Steve Child will have a huge part to play in this half as he has Danny Rose right under his nose.

With tensions running high between the Spurs full back and Danny Welbeck, Steve needs to keep his eye on the pair of them even when play is not active around the pair

GT at 2015-02-07 14:51:04

The two of them come together once again with Welbeck dropping a shoulder into Rose, and Rose replying with a push.

At least one of them will be in the notebook soon…

GT at 2015-02-07 14:49:58

…and there it is.

GT at 2015-02-07 14:48:41

Arsenal get the second half going as Spurs go in  search of that all-important equaliser.

Keep your eyes on Rose and Welbeck, Mr Atkinson, as there may still be ill feeling between them

GT at 2015-02-07 14:37:41

The first 45 minutes have been hugely entertaining.

Plenty of attacking football played, particularly by the visitors.

As for our referees…

Harry Leonard has been faultless. Steve Child just the one error.

Atkinson needs to put in some harder sprint work, which will help his decision making.

GT at 2015-02-07 14:34:18

Welbeck and Rose want exchange handbags as they leave the field of play for the half time break.

Just grow up, get on with it and go back to your dressing rooms boys.

GT at 2015-02-07 14:33:08

Half Time

GT at 2015-02-07 14:32:54

Yellow Card

Welbeck

GT at 2015-02-07 14:31:26

Bellerin makes an excellent challenge but Atkinson finds a free kick from somewhere.

Poor decision, Martin.

GT at 2015-02-07 14:29:38

Very little contact but the Arsenal defender intentionally blocked off the path of his opponent who was making a promising attack

GT at 2015-02-07 14:28:47

Yellow Card

Monreal

GT at 2015-02-07 14:28:22

Poor decision from Steve Child, Harry Kane should not have been  given offside there

GT at 2015-02-07 14:23:53

More leniency from Atkinson as Bentale gets away with kicking his opponent in the chest

GT at 2015-02-07 14:22:20

Good decision.

Kane left something on his opponent there, hitting the Arsenal man with a trailing leg

GT at 2015-02-07 14:21:31

Yellow Card

Harry Kane

GT at 2015-02-07 14:15:14

Very one-paced for me, our referee today.

As play breaks quickly keep your eye on Atkinson. He is a long way off the pace and doesn’t seem to have a sprint in his legs.

GT at 2015-02-07 14:11:23

Dreadful simulation by Lamella.

Threw himself to the ground in an effort to gain a free kick.

Atkinson needs to be speaking to him about that.

GT at 2015-02-07 14:05:31

Poor advantage call by our referee.

No advantage was gained by Spurs there, I am certain they would have preferred the free kick just outside the penalty area, especially with Eriksen on had to take it.

GT at 2015-02-07 14:02:06

Excellent decision by Atko.

Yes the ball hit the Spurs’ defender’s arm (Mason) but his arm was in a natural position and there was absolutely no intent whatsoever to play the ball with his arm.

Well done, Martin.

GT at 2015-02-07 13:59:49

Atkinson is in very lenient mood today.

That’s the second poor challenge by the same Spurs full back, but no card…

GT at 2015-02-07 13:58:17

Good call by Harry Leonard – Ozil was being played onside by a full back on the opposite side of the penalty area.

Too many times this season we’ve seen those incorrectly awarded against forwards.

GT at 2015-02-07 13:56:49

GOAL!

Ozil

GT at 2015-02-07 13:56:16

Good call from Steve Child – definite offside against Harry Kane.

Well done, lino…

GT at 2015-02-07 13:55:40

I hope Atko is going to adjust his positioning and work harder to get into better viewing positions as that free kick to Giroud was very, very soft

GT at 2015-02-07 13:54:49

First offside of the game awarded to Spurs, but as they were on possession why didn’t Atkinson play the advantage?

GT at 2015-02-07 13:51:53

It’s a nice start for our referees.

Despite this being a red-hot local derby the players are not getting carried away in the early challenges. Both sets are trying to play football rather than intimidate their opponents.

GT at 2015-02-07 13:48:48

Two  minutes in and Atkinson lets the players know where his tolerance levels lie, awarding a free lick to Spurs for a push by Giroud

GT at 2015-02-07 13:45:51

Spurs take the kick-off and get us underway…

GT at 2015-02-07 13:40:20

It’s almost time for kick-off at White Hart Lane, for what should be a fantastic game.

GT at 2015-02-07 13:34:30

As for our referees today, the busy Martin Atkinson takes the middle with Stephen Child and Harry Leonard running the lines. Andre Marriner completes the quartet as fourth official.

An apparent favourite of PGMO referees’ chief Mike Riley, his fellow-Yorkshireman Atkinson takes charge of his 20th game of the season, more than any of his colleagues, and remarkably five games more than England’s number one referee Mark Clattenburg.

In his previous 19 games Atkinson has issued 75 cautions and 3 dismissals. No stranger to controversy ‘Atko’ (as he is known amongst the group) ran opposite lines with me during his three seasons as a top flight assistant referee before moving into the middle on The Football League. The 43 year old took charge of his first Premier League game in 2005.

2016 sees Atkinson’s last opportunity to finally referee at a major tournament (The EURO Championships) but standing in his way is the excellent Clattenburg who continues to impress as the season unfolds and the final selections are made for those elusive refereeing places.

With that in mind, Atkinson will be keen to impress today in another high-profile fixture for him.

May the ball run kindly for you all gents, and this fixture develop into the spectacle all fans hope for.

GT at 2015-02-07 13:30:10

Hi everyone and welcome to another live Refcam commentary on today’s Premier League fixture Tottenham Hotspur v Arsenal.

This fixture is always keenly contested between these North London rivals. It is a contest I was fortunate to be involved in on a number of occasions, and can assure YATR followers that without doubt there is no love lost between the two clubs’ sets of supporters!

With the added spice of the clubs currently occupying 6th and 5th places in The Premier League table, this one has all the makings of an absolute thriller.

Despite some pundits writing off Spurs’ chances of becoming a top four side they continue to stay the distance and a win today would see them leapfrog their rivals. With Harry Kane firing in the goals this season, backed up by the ever-impressive Christian Eriksen, would would bet against them taking all three points today?

Arsenal stand in their way though. After an indifferent start to the season The Gunners are right back in form and have notched up a remarkable five consecutive wins going into today’s game. Included in there is, of course, that 0-2 mauling of champions Manchester City at The Etihad Stadium. So what is to say the red half of North London won’t take the spoils today?

This should be an absolute belter of a game, so settle in and enjoy it with us here on YATR.
