The league leaders notch up another 3 points, despite a spirited 2nd half performance by the home  team.

We should consider the awarding of the yellow card to Bardsley.      Should it have been a straight red card?  And what about the missed  push by  Bardsley on Costa? Had the referee been aware of this, then a second yellow should have been awarded and the Stoke player dismissed.

The early Chelsea goal set the tone with the visitors looking fairly comfortable despite the home teams gritty performance. However, the talking point has to be the yellow card for Bardsley. Was the yellow sufficient punishment for the severity of the tackle?

Then had the Referee spotted the push by Bardsley on Costa, a second yellow would have seen the Stoke players dismissed. Lack of awareness or poor positioning by the Referee.
