Southampton v Everton

FINAL SCORE: 4 - 1

Full time summary

RCT at 2017-11-26 16:32:40

The referee Kevin Friend has controlled this game from the first to the last minute. He has achieved this through his consistent reading of the game foul / non foul. He has shown to us a good positional movement and acceleration as and when play has demanded, this has aided his player management overall. He has taken the time to speak to players in his time in a respectful manner.

We have discussed at half time the Boufal non penalty award and also the non handball decision which was not awarded against Michael Keane who from close range has handled the ball but not deliberate in my opinion and that is how Simon Beck on the far touchline has viewed this key match decision.

All in all a very good all round team performance has been seen today and it was nice to see Assistants assisting the referee in today`s game.

Well done referee team. Now on to Stuart Martin to take you through the Huddersfield v Manchester City game. Stay tuned here at REFCAM.

Firstly the referee has controlled the game to date. He has achieved this through his consistent reading of the game foul / non foul. He has achieved this by his positioning and movement which has aided his player management.

We have discussed the Boufal non penalty award and also the non handball decision which was not awarded against Michael Keane who from close range has handled the ball but not deliberate in my opinion and that is how Simon Beck on the far touchline and facing in to the incident would have viewed this key match decision.

RCT at 2017-11-26 15:15:58

As we move close to half time important for all officials to focus to bring the game to half time safely.

40

RCT at 2017-11-26 15:13:16

Again a good viewing position from our referee at that last Saints Ck as he moves to a more square on view to achieve his best viewing position.

Ck to Saints as our referee moves in towards his best viewing position.

35

RCT at 2017-11-26 15:09:49

No penalty to Saints as Michael Keane`s arm is slightly away from his body, although may be the close range from which the ball was played has saved him. Simon Beck would have had the best view and decided no penalty kick. He was facing towards the incident and would have indicated this via the comms.

34

RCT at 2017-11-26 15:06:15

Gk to Everton sees Beck on the far touchline with a clear and concise signal for the re start of play Gk

33

RCT at 2017-11-26 15:04:55

Hojbjerg puts in a strong but fair challenge and our referee is well placed to judge no Fk

Boufal penalty incident

RCT at 2017-11-26 14:53:59

If we go back to the Boufal non penalty award. Should a player have to go down if there is contact in the penalty area to win a penalty kick? Particularly in light of retrospective review are players now thinking differently after last weeks incident involving Niasse of Everton?
