An evenly contested game and MU will be the happier team with the 3 points. Looking back at the match officials performance as I said at half time you can only referee what is in front of you, there was no big key match decisions to be made today but Andre’s recognition of foul non foul was excellent thus gaining the respect of the player’s and making it easier for Andre to control and his control was never in doubt. His movement was laboured but his reading of the play and experience got him to where he has to be. He was well assisted by his assistants so they can drive home knowing they had a very good performance today and no one will be talking about them. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday evening and don’t forget to tune in to tomorrows ref show.

I thought MU35 showed total lack of respect for Andre when he was showing him the yellow card. I would of liked Andre to whistle and call the player to him to show the card to the front of his body not to his back as he was moving away.

MH at 2016-04-03 17:49:21

MH at 2016-04-03 17:33:47

Andre will have to keep an eye on MU8 and E16 having words with each other and it wasn’t pleasantries.

MH at 2016-04-03 17:28:41

Correct offside by DB.

MH at 2016-04-03 17:26:05

Another correct free kick picked up after a foul by E10.

MH at 2016-04-03 17:25:13

Andre has started the second half as he finished the first half not missing anything, picking up all the free kicks he needs to to maintain control. Going about his business quietly but confidently.

Correct free kick to Everton crowd didn’t like it.

Risky by the Everton keeper dribbling the ball but gets away with it.

Yellow CardMU12, correctly cautioned for a reckless challenge.

MH at 2016-04-03 17:16:59

As I said in my half time summery we needed more goal mouth action and we are getting it now.

MH at 2016-04-03 17:15:19

Everton close to an equalizer as E6 hits the cross bar with a header.

MH at 2016-04-03 17:13:36

Intensity of a match always goes up when a goal; is scored, Andre will have to stay fully focused.

MH at 2016-04-03 17:12:36

Just prior to the goal, ball struck MU12 on the hand in the area but not deliberate, agree with Andre no penalty.

MH at 2016-04-03 17:11:29

GOAL!MU9.

MH at 2016-04-03 17:09:38

Agree with Andre, foul only by MU17 on E19. Careless challenge.

MH at 2016-04-03 17:08:48

E6 not happy at the corner as he felt he was held, difficult to tell.

MH at 2016-04-03 17:07:15

Good defending by MU17.

MH at 2016-04-03 17:02:46

Everton to kick off. Substitution for MU, MU5 OFF, MU51 ON.

MH at 2016-04-03 16:48:49

Score remains 0-0. Not a lot to talk about in this uneventful first half, but as a referee you can only referee what is in front of you and the official’s have missed nothing to date so they will be pleased with that. Let’s hope for a bit more goal mouth action in the second half.

MH at 2016-04-03 16:46:46

MH at 2016-04-03 16:38:11

Excellent challenge in the box again by E5, only the crowd appeal for a penalty.

MH at 2016-04-03 16:35:55

Excellent challenge by E23 in the box, Andre in n excellent position to judge a fair challenge.

MH at 2016-04-03 16:34:00

Talking about all this weekend’s controversies.

MH at 2016-04-03 16:33:23

Remember to tune into tomorrow’s ref show with myself, Alan Biggs and Carlton Palmer.

MH at 2016-04-03 16:31:56

Andre’s running style looks very laboured but his reading of the game and experience is getting him into the positions.

MH at 2016-04-03 16:29:54

Corner to MU.

MH at 2016-04-03 16:27:01

Game lacking in intensity making it easier for the match officials and they won’t be complaining with that.

MH at 2016-04-03 16:25:58

Well cleared by MU keeper.

MH at 2016-04-03 16:25:24

Good advantage played by Andre to MU.

MH at 2016-04-03 16:24:22

Bit of a wrestling match between E10 and MU12 at the corner, MU12 has to be careful as he has got a history of giving away penalties and I’m sure Andre will be aware of that.

MH at 2016-04-03 16:22:48

Foul by MU28 on E16 correctly penalised.

MH at 2016-04-03 16:17:52

Excellent strike by MU9, should of been a corner after a deflection by E3 but unseen by the match officials.

MH at 2016-04-03 16:16:19

Pleasing to see Andre picking up all the small free kicks missing nothing and that’s important to keep the player’s onside..

MH at 2016-04-03 16:14:04

Foul by MU on E20, picked up correctly by Andre.

MH at 2016-04-03 16:12:45

Good to see E19 stay on his feet in the box, you see so many player’s going down to easy.

MH at 2016-04-03 16:11:49

Pleasing to see Andre managing the players by talking to them, that’s what players like.

MH at 2016-04-03 16:10:00

Foul by E20 on MU35, correctly punished by Andre.

MH at 2016-04-03 16:09:29

It’s important that Andre is aware of what is going on around him today.

MH at 2016-04-03 16:06:50

Looks like Everton haven’t come to park the bus.

MH at 2016-04-03 16:04:47

E16 goes down injury after a collision with a MU defender, AM in good position to see no offence committed.

MH at 2016-04-03 16:00:11

United to kick off and get the first half underway.

MH at 2016-04-03 15:59:10

Nice to see Andre go and shake Sir Bobby’s hand.

MH at 2016-04-03 15:57:59

Great to see the crowd acknowledge the legendary Sir Bobby Charlton.

MH at 2016-04-03 15:55:25

The teams are walking onto the pitch.

MH at 2016-04-03 15:54:55

Good afternoon and welcome to you all for the 2nd of our Ref Cam games today. Man Utd and Everton games are always difficult to handle as I have taken charge of many. Classed as a derby game as both clubs are at each end of the East Lancs with 35 miles separating the two clubs. United will be looking to build on their excellent win in the Manchester derby and try to cement a place in next seasons Champions League while Everton will be looking to improve their inconsistency with their league form. So we should be in for a pulsating game. Today’s referee is Andre Marriner, a vastly experienced referee at this level. He will be looking to have a controversy free game as Roberto Martinez is not a big fan of his as he feels Andre has made many errors in his games. Interestingly Scott Ledger who is one of Andre’s assistant’s today comes back into the Premier League after working with Andre in the Palace V Liverpool game awarding Liverpool a very late controversial  penalty when Benteke went to ground very easy after a challenge by Delaney. We will be all hoping the ball runs kindly for the officials today, Andre will also be assisted by Dave Bryan and 4th Official Mike Jones.
