How pleasing to report on a good night for the Match Officials, Pavel Kralovec and his team will not be the talking point of this game despite his making a big decision during the first half to award City a penalty kick following an offence by Benatia on Aguero and sending off the offender. Match control was impressive with second half cautions issued for Reckless challenges and delaying the re-start (Time Wasting) The Technical side of the Referee’s performance was also strong with astute movement and positioning moving freely in a rectangle between each penalty area to maintain a good proximity to play and create good view angles. He was also not let down by his team with credible offside decision making from his Assistants and a good first half call from one of his Additional Assistant Referees. A great nights work from our Czech Republic colleagues. Its all about getting the big decisions right, it comes as no surprise to note it was achieved by good technique and concentration, the end product being so impressive. How refreshing it would be if we could report similarly on next weekends Premier League action!

Game over City win 3-2!
RH at 2014-11-25 22:35:53
Aguero then earns himself a yellow card for delaying the re-start at the subsequent kick off!
RH at 2014-11-25 22:34:28
Incredible! Sergio Aguero makes it 3-2 City!
RH at 2014-11-25 22:33:38
Three minutes added time!
RH at 2014-11-25 22:33:20
Yellow card for Pablo Zabaleta as he over runs the ball and treads on an opponent and then commits a robust challenge shortly after earning the card!
RH at 2014-11-25 22:31:24
The Referee still moving well at this late stage of the game
RH at 2014-11-25 22:29:51
The match tempo rises again as City smell victory!
RH at 2014-11-25 22:28:53
Aguero scores to make it 2-2
RH at 2014-11-25 22:24:39
Good offside decision against City on that last attack from the far side Assistant
RH at 2014-11-25 22:23:55
Ribery shows his appreciation to the Referee as he leaves the field of play being substituted
RH at 2014-11-25 22:22:12
Good match control is maintained as Neuer is cautioned for time delaying the restart, time wasting!
RH at 2014-11-25 22:21:13
AS Nasri went to ground in that last City attack , despite a ‘crowd scene’ the Referee made a clear path of vision of the incident which was some ten metres away, well done!
RH at 2014-11-25 22:18:04
Good to see Pavel Kralovec moving through into the penalty area on that recent City attack to seek a better viewing angle, impressive!
RH at 2014-11-25 22:15:28
Perhaps the only area that i would question of the Referees performance so far, is his desire to play mid field possession only advantage occasionally, one there in favour of Bayern
RH at 2014-11-25 22:12:54
Technically however its ‘business as usual’ with the Referee continuing to make effective use of his patrol path to maintain good proximity to play and create good viewing angles
RH at 2014-11-25 22:09:56
What looked to be a corner going against City
RH at 2014-11-25 22:09:15
From a Match Control point of view this is a key phase of the game, City need to press and Bayern need to preserve what they have, the Tempo is steadily rising and the Referee needs to maintain his strong control of the game, the next ten minutes will be important
RH at 2014-11-25 22:06:40
Although the Referee has good control of this game, there are sign that the players are getting restless, and are exercising less respect for each other. Alonso late on Lampard proving the point
RH at 2014-11-25 22:04:28
First caution of the game as Clichy is rightly cautioned for a reckless challenge
RH at 2014-11-25 22:03:05
Lewandowski and Kompany clashing near the touch line, on another night that may have led to a more charged confrontation and yellow cards!
RH at 2014-11-25 22:01:17
Play seems to have settled down into the first half tempo, City obviously using their eleven man advantage to press their opponents
RH at 2014-11-25 21:57:15
The game has started to become scrappy with a few niggly careless challenges
RH at 2014-11-25 21:55:11
The basis of the Referee’s patrol path is a ‘box top box’ as play sings from end to end. The Referee is making effective use of a rectangle between each penalty area turning inside or outside as play develops. Sprinting strongly at breakaway attacks, Its working very well so far!
RH at 2014-11-25 21:50:47
During that first second half Bayern attack, the passage of play was squeezed well between the Referee and his active Assistant
RH at 2014-11-25 21:48:11
The second half has started!

A strong first half showing from the Referee who has got the big decision right in awarding a penalty to City and sending off Benatia. His technical game has been strong with good movement around the field of play supplemented with a good sprinting technique. He has controlled the game well so far. Good team work is also in evidence with credible offside calls and a good ‘ball over the line’ call from the Additional Assistant Referee. Its only half time but a promising first half performance from our Czech Republic team, lets hope they maintain this standard during the vecond half
RH at 2014-11-25 21:33:27
A great call from the Additional Assistant Referee gives City a corner, but its all to no avail as the first half comes to an end
RH at 2014-11-25 21:31:26
Lewandowski scores their second goal in five minutes as Hart is beaten again!
RH at 2014-11-25 21:30:15
A good advantage played in that last City attack following an infringement on Aguero
RH at 2014-11-25 21:28:38
The Referee managed that incident leading up to the goal well, the original offence was straight forward, but his words with Kompany and Ribery were followed by a good management of the 9.15 metre wall
RH at 2014-11-25 21:26:32
A trip by Mangala on Lewandowski presents us with a shot on Goal for Bayern, Bayern take full advantage with a goal from the kick 1-1
RH at 2014-11-25 21:23:24
Nasri correctly judged offside although Navas was onside, a good call from the nearside Assistant
RH at 2014-11-25 21:21:28
A careless challenge from Ribery gives us a ‘spray’ moment!
RH at 2014-11-25 21:19:21
Aguero rightly signaled offside a yard inside the Bayern half
RH at 2014-11-25 21:18:14
A strong first half hour from the Referee, he’s got the big decision correct and his technical game looks good!
RH at 2014-11-25 21:17:01
Dante following a robust challenge on Nasri, he got the ball though!
RH at 2014-11-25 21:14:31
There is a sense that Bayerns dominant position in the Group is reflected in their players disciplined reaction to the sending off and in their play since the incident
RH at 2014-11-25 21:11:23
City make tactical changes to re-organise after the sending off, Rode making way, unlucky
RH at 2014-11-25 21:10:20
Looking at the Penalty incident, the contact was minimal on Aguero, but there was contact, and from the Referee’s position he made the only deceion he could, it was a tight call, but he took his time and i feel got it right
RH at 2014-11-25 21:07:50
Goal 1-0 City! Aguero scores!
RH at 2014-11-25 21:06:51
Penalty to City and a Red card to Benatia!
RH at 2014-11-25 21:05:43
On that last City attack it was good to see the Referee carefully adjusting his position near the ‘D’ to view any infringements as the ball was crossed from the right, plenty of thought going into this
RH at 2014-11-25 21:01:43
First corner of the game to City, not much grappling! lets hope that continues!
RH at 2014-11-25 20:59:35
A careless challenge from Milner rightly penalised
RH at 2014-11-25 20:57:28
Good positioning and movement from the Referee in these opening ten minutes as he reads play and adjusts his position accordingly
RH at 2014-11-25 20:51:36
A second explosive sprint to cover that last City attack!
RH at 2014-11-25 20:50:47
As the game starts to take shape the Referee is constantly adjusting his position to maintain the correct proximity to play
RH at 2014-11-25 20:47:38
We’re barely seconds in and the Referees explosive sprinting is tested early!
RH at 2014-11-25 20:46:16
Pavel Kralovec gets us underway!
