One final comment from me - regarding his challenge on Vardy, Mata says "I was lucky" !!!!
Bye for now

- In the high-profile world of the Premier League, those watching will be, quite rightly, critical of Anthony Taylor’s decision not to dismiss Juan Mata – with the ultimate irony of Mata scoring the decisive goal which killed the game as a contest. 1 minute of madness amongst 89 minutes of sound and solid refereeing.
- In the interests of balance, there was much to admire about Anthony Taylor’s refereeing – high quality movement being the outstanding feature.
- What is often forgotten post-match is the contribution of the Assistant Referees. Peter Kirkup and Simon Bennet both gave commendable displays to back up Anthony Taylor and their performances were a major plus.

Summary to follow ........
AH at 2017-02-05 18:49:14
de Gea picks up a unnecessary caution for delaying the restart - Anthony Tayllor maintaining his standards, but I keep going back to the non sending off of Mata .....
AH at 2017-02-05 18:45:53
The deflated Foxes seem null and void of ideas and are, at best, going through the motions - sad to see the Leicester faithful departing early from the stadium
AH at 2017-02-05 18:39:27
I wonder if Mr. Schmeichel Senior is at the game ? Missed emotions for the 'Great Dane' I guess .......
AH at 2017-02-05 18:36:58
Keep your focus gents - their is nothing left in the game, but it still needs bringing to a safe and successful conclusion.
AH at 2017-02-05 18:31:22
#LEIMUN 70 minutes gone and the game has become a training ground exercise. This is the time when the refereeing team need to keep their focus and concentration, just because the game is over as a contest, there are still 20 minutes of work to do.

An interesting tweet from @RedSteva following my comment on Manchester United's "yellow card" tactic - "cynical fouls & yellow cards. Maybe the sin bin would be a better sanction." What do you think - let us know by tweeting us here @youaretheref

Anthony Taylor retains his high standard positional play, being ideally positioned to detect that Pogba did not offend, a marginal, yet correct decision.
AH at 2017-02-05 18:22:39
More commendable officiating from Peter Kirkup as he correctly allows Mata to proceed on goal, even though other United players were in offside positions.
AH at 2017-02-05 18:20:54
Consecutive yellow cards by Manchester United midfield players shows how the Away Team are prepared to take the cautions in order to disrupt the flow of the game and secure all 3 points - legal, clever and a modern day tactic which is now accepted as part and parcel of the professional game.
AH at 2017-02-05 18:15:22
Pogba joins the 'yellow card club' - that one correctly given for the location of the offence as Leicester City developed a promising attack
AH at 2017-02-05 18:13:22
Herrera 'Takes one for the team' and joins Mata, Fuchs and Drinkwater is the book
AH at 2017-02-05 18:10:16
The irony being, of course, that Mata should not have been on the field of play - any comments now from the Manchester United head-coach I wonder ?
AH at 2017-02-05 18:08:04
High quality officiating from Peter Kirkup as he correctly recognises that Morgan is playing Mata onside as the latter scored the third
AH at 2017-02-05 18:05:50
@ConlaundLuke tweets - A good half overall from Taylor but ruined his hard work by not issuing Mata his marching orders
AH at 2017-02-05 18:03:46
Here we go for the second half .....
AH at 2017-02-05 18:01:51
Having discussed the incorrect call, I need to put some balance into my coverage by highlighting the many commendable features of Anthony's performance so far - his other yellow cards were spot on, his movement is very good and, with one exception, his penal offence judgement has been solid.
AH at 2017-02-05 17:57:19
LOL - Sky Pundits have just used the term "orange" card - sorry Mr Carragher - the more I see the replay, the more I am convinced that Mata's challenge 'endangered the safety of his opponent'
AH at 2017-02-05 17:54:37
Well, in my opinion, a high quality 44 minutes and 30 seconds from the referee, tarnished by a strange 30 seconds when he judged that Mata's challenge was reckless, as opposed to dangerous. Not my view, some may think that the challenge was 'orange' (somewhere between yellow and red), but I am convinced that Mata deserved to walk - a view shared by many on Twitter. What do you think - let us know @youaretheref
AH at 2017-02-05 17:49:08
The Foxes must be stunned - their containment plan was going well until quality forward play from the visitors took them to a 2-0 half-time lead .....
AH at 2017-02-05 17:47:28
Unbelievable - talk about waiting for a bus - nothing for 40 minutes and two come along at once - Ibrahimovic is on target as the Reds double their lead.
AH at 2017-02-05 17:45:09
Mkhitaryan opens the scoring just before half-time and at last we have a game .....
AH at 2017-02-05 17:43:08
Fuchs sees yellow and can have no complaints following his rash challenge
AH at 2017-02-05 17:31:25
Ouch - Mata's challenge on Vardy was not pleasant - in my opinion, that could have been red. Let's go back to law - did his challenge "endanger the safety of his opponent" - if it did, and in my opinion it did - then red is the colour, not yellow. The players seem to have accepted the decision - but I am not convinced.
AH at 2017-02-05 17:27:06
25 minutes gone and still only 1 shot on target - distinct lack of midfield quality to feed the front-men, where are Paul Scholes and Alan Birchenall when you need them ...
AH at 2017-02-05 17:23:31
Commendable positioning by the referee allows him to correctly judge the challenge in the penalty area and to award a corner to Leicester City
AH at 2017-02-05 17:19:43
Good positive intervention by Peter Kirkup as Rojo makes a 6-nations type challenge with a clear push in the back
AH at 2017-02-05 17:16:30
#LEIMUN 15 minutes gone and the game has not really settled down yet - just one shot on target - Anthony is keeping a good focus in spite of the disjointed nature of the game.
AH at 2017-02-05 17:12:48
Good pro-active refereeing by Anthony Taylor - Ibrahimovic trying to involve Drinkwater in some off-the-ball nonsense as the Leicester player has already been cautioned
AH at 2017-02-05 17:10:20
Anthony Taylor's decision to caution Danny Drinkwater will please Luke Conluand @ConlaundLuke who was looking for the referee to impose himself on the game in the early stages - thanks to Luke and Simon Jackson for your tweets
AH at 2017-02-05 17:07:26
Danny Drinkwater hauls back Mata and Anthony Taylor seizes the opportunity to assert his authority early in the game. Good refereeing in my opinion
AH at 2017-02-05 17:04:47
We take for granted the quality of the playing surfaces on the Premier League this season - if you were refereeing on a cow-field this morning, you will know what I mean - my game was on a 4G surface - what do you think of games being played on these surfaces, let us know here at @youaretheref
AH at 2017-02-05 17:00:58
Here we go - sit back on your Sunday afternoon and enjoy the game with us .......
AH at 2017-02-05 16:59:50
#LEIMUN It is very significant that Anthony Taylor is one of only two refs to oversee 20 top flight games this season now, which evidences the high esteem he is held in at PGMOL towers.
AH at 2017-02-05 16:58:19
Anthony has the experienced Simon Bennett and Peter Kirkup as his wing-men, Neil Swarbrick has the 4th official duties. I used to enjoy listening to the fox-hunt bugle when officiating at Filbert Street and at the KingPower, one of the Premier League's quaint customs - why do Everton run out to Z-Cars theme - if you know, please let us know!
AH at 2017-02-05 16:53:42
Anthony Taylor is in charge this afternoon. I have had the pleasure of assessing Anthony on a number of occasions, watching him referee as an up and coming official on the Conference (National League) - he was outstanding even at that level and I am not surprised to see him rise to the top.
AH at 2017-02-05 16:50:49
During that game it was great to have your Twitter input from @Jackson_S_D, @Shez_71, 'ConlaundLuke and others - keep them coming during this game by tweeting us here @youaretheref

Welcome to our coverage of Leicester City v Manchester United from the King Power Stadium. The Foxes have had such a contrast in form over the last 18 months, they will be keen to secure something from this game. Their visitors will be looking for all 3 points to keep in touch with their neighbours, who just scraped the win in our earlier game.
