This result will ease LC relegation fears but I'm sure there will be some serious inquest's into MC's performance. No one will be talking about Michael Oliver's performance, back to his best today after a first half blip last week. Although this wasn't a difficult game to referee, you can only referee what is in front of you. He stamped his authority on the game in the 19th minute with the caution of LC Simpson for a reckless challenge and that set the tone for the player's behaviour and that set the tone for Michael's tolerance level for those sort of challenges. We had a further 3 cautions that were all fully justified. He bossed the game so that the players knew who was in charge. His positioning, movement and fitness was excellent and he showed that he has explosive sprinting in his game as well. He gained the trust of the player's with his correct decision making, missing nothing. Although I can forgive him for getting the corner wrong when it should have been a goal kick to MC. That's the only thing I can remember he got wrong. Well done Michael. He was well assisted by Jake and Simon.

Good to see Michael speak to MC7, they are the sort of challenges you can man manage, well done Michael.
MH at 2016-12-10 20:14:38
Foul by MC7 on LC26.
MH at 2016-12-10 20:11:20
Pep has got his work cut out managing in the Premier League.
MH at 2016-12-10 20:10:32
MC11 straight from the free kick, great strike. To little to late.
MH at 2016-12-10 20:09:39
That's the beauty of goal line technology. Michael looked straight to his watch and indicated a goal. Had we not had goal line technology that would have been very difficult for the assistant to judge as it was only a fraction over the line. Correct free kick given after a foul by LC28 on MC21
MH at 2016-12-10 20:07:12
LC9. That's Vardy's hatrick well done. What a poor back pass by MC24 Stones. Man City have been very very poor at the back.
MH at 2016-12-10 20:05:34
Correct free kick given to MC.
MH at 2016-12-10 20:05:02
Substitution for LC, LC19 OFF, LC20 ON.
MH at 2016-12-10 20:04:08
However.... you must as a referee when the game seems to become easy and there's nothing going on you must stay fully focus and switched on and have awareness of what is going on around you.
MH at 2016-12-10 20:01:38
Second half has become easy to referee as there is no intensity in the game at present but as a referee you can only referee what is in front of you.
MH at 2016-12-10 19:56:31
Substitution for MC, MC8 OFF, MC9 ON.
MH at 2016-12-10 19:55:50
MC6 cautioned for a reckless challenge on LC17.

There are times when you make small mistakes but players will forgive if they know that you will engage with them.
MH at 2016-12-10 19:52:04
It's clear that the players have the utmost respect for Micheal and that comes with his correct decision making.
MH at 2016-12-10 19:50:52
Caution given for delaying the restart of play.
MH at 2016-12-10 19:49:38

Substitutions for MC, MC15 OFF, MC7 ON, MC72 OFF, MC42 ON.
MH at 2016-12-10 19:45:15
Team work not as good as it should of been after they awarded a corner to LC, it clearly should have been a goal kick. MC15 was very unhappy with the decision but it was good to see Michael manage the MC player in the way he did, knowing by player reaction he clearly got the decision wrong.
MH at 2016-12-10 19:42:58
Good offside by Simon Bennett.
MH at 2016-12-10 19:40:40
MC shout for handball but that's not for me.
MH at 2016-12-10 19:36:25
Correct free kick given to MC.
MH at 2016-12-10 19:32:54
LC to get us underway.
MH at 2016-12-10 19:22:52
Well what a pulsating first half we have seen and nobody saw that score line coming, Michael has played his part in making this game as entertaining as it is. He hasn't been fussy, he has let the game breath and he has given the game a chance He has stamped his authority on the game with the caution of Simpson for a reckless challenge, so player's certainly know where they stand regarding reckless challenges Let's have another 45 minutes like the first.
MH at 2016-12-10 19:17:54
MH at 2016-12-10 19:17:00
A minimum of 2 minutes added time.
MH at 2016-12-10 19:16:30
Careless challenge on LC9 free kick to LC.
MH at 2016-12-10 19:14:56
Difficult for Michael when both players are tussling in the box, he came to the right outcome and gave nothing.
MH at 2016-12-10 19:12:55
Free kick to LC after Michael spotted a holding offence.
MH at 2016-12-10 19:12:06
In my opinion the assistant has to come in much quicker if he is going to give a free kick because that is when you invite dissent by players.
MH at 2016-12-10 19:10:52
That's a very late flag from Jake Collin after a foul by LC6.
MH at 2016-12-10 19:06:36
Michael's fitness is excellent, he is anticipating and reading play very well and he is never static.
MH at 2016-12-10 19:05:28
MC24 complaining to Michael but not sure what he is complaining about but it's good to see Michael engaging with the player. It is so important to speak to the players.
MH at 2016-12-10 19:00:04
I noticed Michael had his back turned to the play when the ball was played forward, you should always face play looking at the ball.
MH at 2016-12-10 18:57:31
Does the LC third goal go down as an assist to Micheal Oliver lol.
MH at 2016-12-10 18:55:30
Going back to the Simpson caution, you get a chance to stamp your authority on a game and Michael has done that and I think he has learnt from last week's game Everton V Man Utd where he should have cautioned Gareth Barry.
MH at 2016-12-10 18:51:30
MC are having a shocker!!!!
MH at 2016-12-10 18:50:57
MH at 2016-12-10 18:50:26
LC17 Rightly cautioned for a reckless challenge, you cannot manage those challenges.
MH at 2016-12-10 18:46:34
Pleasing to see Michael picking up the small free kicks.
MH at 2016-12-10 18:45:07
Correct offside call by Jake Collin.
MH at 2016-12-10 18:44:22
Michael's movement around the field of play in the early stages is very good, he is not sticking rigidly to the centre of the field, thus giving him good viewing angels to make correct calls to date.
MH at 2016-12-10 18:41:01
Free kick correctly given to MC.
MH at 2016-12-10 18:37:40
The heavy rain and greasy surface will make it difficult for Michael regarding careless and reckless challenges.
MH at 2016-12-10 18:36:06
Once again poor defending by MC.
MH at 2016-12-10 18:35:18
MH at 2016-12-10 18:34:33
Poor defending by MC.
MH at 2016-12-10 18:33:37
What a start we have got to this game.
MH at 2016-12-10 18:32:58
MH at 2016-12-10 18:30:29
Manchester City to get us underway.
MH at 2016-12-10 18:24:06
Good evening and a warm welcome to this evening's live YATR ref cam Leicester V Manchester City. Both teams will be looking for 3 points, with last season's champions who are now in a relegation battle. While City will want to appease last week's defeat at home to Chelsea, a game they should have won and a game that went crazy in the last minute with City going down to 9 men.
This evenings referee is Michael Oliver who we saw last week at Everton V Manchester Utd, for the first 20 minutes of that game in my opinion Michael was not fully focused and he missed a nailed on caution for Gareth Barry and should have shown Marcus Rojo a red card for a very poor challenge. For the next 70 minutes i thought Michael had done well, so he has to come out fully focused from the first minute to the last this evening. Otherwise he will suffer the same fate as last week. He will be assisted by Jake Collin (technical side), Simon Bennett and 4th official Andre Marriner. Good luck to all the officials tonight let's hope the ball runs kindly.
