Final Summary of Mike Dean`s Refereeing Performance

RCT at 2017-03-18 20:33:51

In summary Mike has shown: Very good overall match control of a high profile live TV game! A stepped approach to match control, he has talked to players, correct showing of a yellow cards to KISY and Cork of Swansea for their reckless challenges. He has got himself into great viewing positions in and around the penalty area to get those all important  key decisions right - In summary he has refereed this game in a low key but very effective manner. He was unseen throughout and showed a good reading of foul / non foul. Fitness - very good overall with good movement as play breaks away.  His body language was positive and he applied basic application of law. Key Match Decision 1st Half - no penalty to Swansea is correct as the ball was played by a S. player at very close range (1 metre) hitting the B. Players arm. Both Assistant Referees proved very good low key support to Mike, such was his overall match control of this game. Well done Mike and Team.

Great save from Fabianski to keep S. in the game. Again, Mike has taken up a good viewing position as he stops just outside the S, defending penalty area to view..

Fk to S. as KISY is fouled. Mike is close to award this fk.

48

RCT at 2017-03-18 19:36:03

Good advantage to B. As Mike delays in the award but allows the advantage and this is quickly followed up with another advantage to B. Also note the correct arm signal. It is positive.

46

RCT at 2017-03-18 19:34:10

FK to S. Good flag signal from IH. Nearside touchline. Spray out as Mike manages the 9.15m defensive wall.

Mike`s Directional Arm Signals

RCT at 2017-03-18 19:15:33

Keep an eye on this area this is very positive and aides your communication as a referee when you are positive and clear in your directional signal.

42

RCT at 2017-03-18 19:13:27

Afobe is offside signalled by IH. Flg held well to assist with the restart of play.

40

RCT at 2017-03-18 19:11:29

Free kick is well managed by Mike - 9.15 metre defensive wall aided by the spray.

Bournemouth Goal

RCT at 2017-03-18 19:04:03

Good non offside flag from Ian Hussin as the S. defender nearside was keeping Afobe onside

30

RCT at 2017-03-18 19:01:29

GOAL! 1-0 Afobe scores with a deflection from Mawson

28

RCT at 2017-03-18 19:00:25

FK to B. Simon would have assisted the teamwork ethic with a flag signal as the foul was very close to his position - correct to retake the fk as the ball was moving

23

RCT at 2017-03-18 18:56:34

CK to S. -  No penalty for handball - correct the ball is struck by the S. player from a very close distance WITH THE BALL HITTING THE B. defenders arm from a very close distance -  so no penalty kick is correct

22

RCT at 2017-03-18 18:53:27

Smith foul on Kingsley and Mike right to award a fk despite Kingsley trying to remain on his feet

19

RCT at 2017-03-18 18:51:22

Ball just of play and out for a gk to S. Ian Hussin would have signalled and communicated this to Mike.

RCT at 2017-03-18 18:48:42

Good challenge from Cork - no fk is correct

16

RCT at 2017-03-18 18:47:52

Simon Long show a good pace to get to the goal line to make a judgement - always best to be in the right place to make a judgement in these situations

13

RCT at 2017-03-18 18:44:41

From that last S. throw in Mike has picked a great view to detect any pushing in the B. defending penalty area.

11

RCT at 2017-03-18 18:43:11

2 good throw in detections from Mike who led early with a clear signal allowing his Assistant to follow his directional lead.

Throw in to S.

RCT at 2017-03-18 18:41:17

Good signal technique from Simon Long showing a clear and positive signal with a good retention of the flag.

8

RCT at 2017-03-18 18:39:32

Fk to B. Good position from Mike to detect and award

7

RCT at 2017-03-18 18:37:57

Foul on Mawson by King Mike right to stop play there and award a safe free kick.

Assistant Referees

RCT at 2017-03-18 18:37:01

Simon Long is on the far touchline (Technical Area) as we view and Ian Hussin is on the nearside touchline

3

RCT at 2017-03-18 18:35:23

Mike had a quiet word with Fer after that early advantage to B.

2

RCT at 2017-03-18 18:34:34

Early fk to B. Followed up by a good advantage to B. Mike was going to blow for a fk but he choose to play an advantage. Good early refereeing allowing the game to flow.

RCT at 2017-03-18 18:20:19

Good afternoon and welcome to this live REFCAM commentary as we cover this crucial relegation game as we enter the final stages of the season. What an important game at this stage of this season. A win for Bournemouth will see them move closer to safety, whilst Swansea now 4th from bottom of the EPL will see this as a chance to move out of the bottom 4.
