#BOUBHA We have 3 more RefCam games for you this weekend, starting with Crystal Palace v Southampton, starting at 12.30 UK time tomorrow, with expert comments from former Premier League referee Rob Harris – thanks for tuning in this evening.

#BOUBHA The final whistle sounds to seal 3 points for Bournemouth – but from our point of view – it signals the conclusion of a fine performance by Craig Pawson and his team. Although there are some issues with his positional play, the accuracy of his penal offence decisions outweighs this and he should be very pleased with his evening’s work.
AH at 2017-09-15 21:48:55
#BOUBHA With 4 minutes of additional time to play, the accuracy of the referee’s penal offence decisions continues as Dunk tumbles King close to the penalty area. Significantly, no complaints from the Brighton players.

Assistant Richard West slips and recovers with a degree of dignity and a wry smile – I am sure his refereeing colleagues will not let him forget that in a hurry.
AH at 2017-09-15 21:37:39
#BOUBHA – It’s great to see referee Craig Pawson remain calm and in complete control of the game, even though the ‘temperature’ had gone up a few degrees – the accuracy of his decision to penalise Afobe illustrating this.
AH at 2017-09-15 21:31:33
#BOUBHA Fox in the box Jermaine Defoe turns on sixpence and powers home a net-busting finish. How many football cliches can I get in one sentence I wonder. In the meantime – keep focused refereeing team.
AH at 2017-09-15 21:27:01
#BOUBHA Now is the time for the refereeing team to refocus and go again. 1-1 and all to play for in the final 20 minutes. It’s easy to be caught up in the emotion of the game, especially when things are going so well …..
AH at 2017-09-15 21:24:11
#BOUBHA – a beautifully worked goal see Surman equalise for the Home Team – the last quarter of the game is going to be fun …..
AH at 2017-09-15 21:21:53
I am still of the belief that Craig is occasionally too central – players were having to take significant action to avoid colliding with the referee. This only happens in the central third though, as attacks develop, he moves well and into a more credible position.

Great work by Gross and Solly March opens the scoring with a firm header – now we do have game on !
AH at 2017-09-15 21:09:53
#BOUBHA Good pressure, at last, from the Away Team, as Craig Pawson has to reach for the GLT (Goal Line Technology) to decide’ no goal’ as the ball rebounds from the cross-bar. Bournemouth then apply pressure at the other end – game on !!
AH at 2017-09-15 21:04:52
Ho hum, the game has turned into a game of chess, it’s all patterns and sticking to the game plan – one goal and the intensity changes ….
AH at 2017-09-15 21:01:35
Just 1 shot on target so far – although the game has certainly not lacked commitment – it’s key that the refereeing team remain focused …..

How do you think Craig Pawson and his team are doing so far, let us know by tweeting us @youaretheref
AH at 2017-09-15 20:49:17
#BOUBHA Half-time, so far so good for the 3rd team on the field-of play. Craig Pawson will be hoping for more of the same in the 2nd half, but I think the first goal, when it comes, will increase the pressure and perhaps lead to a card or two in the second period.
AH at 2017-09-15 20:44:01
2 minutes to go to half-time, plus possibly 1 additional minute – keep focused Gents
AH at 2017-09-15 20:40:50
Knockaert’s clumsy challenge earns him a ‘quiet word’ with referee Pawson – good man management as we approach half-time
AH at 2017-09-15 20:38:10
#BOUBHA 10 minutes to half-time, by and large the players are remaining disciplined, presenting no major issues for the refereeing team. Interestingly enough, not one offside has been given.
AH at 2017-09-15 20:31:10
#BOUBHA Con Hatzidakis is not fooled by Anthony Knockaert’s dramatic fall to ground – good alertness and awareness by the Assistant Referee.

Back to Craig’s positional play, he works hard mentally to ensure that he does not get ahead of play as attacks develop in the final third of the field of play – this good practice, although I would still like to see him come closer to the touchline on certain occasions.
AH at 2017-09-15 20:19:36
#BOUBHA just 2 penal offences committed in he first 20 minutes of this game – the refereeing team will settle for that ratio as the game proceeds!
AH at 2017-09-15 20:17:01
Going back to my earlier comments, good wide positional play by the referee as the Home Team move into the penalty area – nothing wrong at all with his position on this occasion.

That was a strange decision as the ball deflects for a corner and the referee awards a goal-kick, sometimes the referee can just get unlucky was angles. let’s give Craig the benefit of the doubt on that one as the deflection was not distinguishable.
AH at 2017-09-15 20:10:06
#BOUBHA This game is typical Premier League, fast, skillful and hard fought – this will be a good test for the refereeing team this evening …
AH at 2017-09-15 20:08:31
There is a perception that this evening’s referee Craig Pawson appears to have a limited work-rate owing to his languid running style – if you compare his movement to that of Anthony Taylor, for example, the latter looks busy. See what you think and let us know – bearing in mind how close Craig gets to key incidents in both penalty areas.

There is certainly pressure on the Home Team manager Eddie Howe, with just 1 goal and 0 points from their first 4 games in the Premier League. The first 10/15 minutes will be so vital, let’s see how the game unfolds.
AH at 2017-09-15 19:53:24
#BOUBHA Sheffield’s Craig Pawson is the man in charge this evening, supported by the experience of Rich West and Con Hatzidakis. Chris Kavanagh has the 4th official duties.
