CP will be more happier with the point than Arsenal in this dull affair. There was no big key match decisions for RE to preside over, RE won’t worry about that. You can only referee what is in front of you but what did impress me with RE today was his recognition of careless and reckless challenges. There were 2 cautions, CP6 and CP28 fully deserved. Well assisted by his assistants and nobody will be talking about the officials today unlike the previous game Leicester V West Ham.

Full Time

MH at 2016-04-17 17:50:33

Great tackle by A5 denying CP11 the chance to score.

MH at 2016-04-17 17:48:25

A minimum of 4 minutes added time.

MH at 2016-04-17 17:41:54

Substitution for Arsenal, A35 OFF, A14 ON.

MH at 2016-04-17 17:40:56

That’s what you get when you don’t put your chances away. CP have not been in the game at all, have a rare shot on target and score. I think Arsenal keeper will, be disappointed that he didn’t keep it out.

MH at 2016-04-17 17:30:20

That has to be another yellow card.

MH at 2016-04-17 17:29:29

RE recognition of careless challenges have been very good today.

MH at 2016-04-17 17:27:51

Don’t think a second goal will be long in coming.

MH at 2016-04-17 17:26:57

Correct offside given by RW.

MH at 2016-04-17 17:26:36

Well done to RE being switched on and allowing the free kick to be taken.

MH at 2016-04-17 17:26:01

Excellent quick free kick by Arsenal, nearly resulting in a second goal after a header by A17.

MH at 2016-04-17 17:24:34

Another chance for Arsenal, A17 should of done better with the header.

MH at 2016-04-17 17:22:53

Chance for Arsenal, good save by CP Keeper.

MH at 2016-04-17 17:22:15

Boos echo out around the Emirates for Adebayor as Arsenal fans are unhappy at the way he left Arsenal.

Substitution for CP. CP25 On, CP21 OFF.

MH at 2016-04-17 17:19:33

Clear foul by CP10 on A18, Once again just a careless challenge.

MH at 2016-04-17 17:18:24

Well done RE stopping the game straight away after a clash of heads of CP21 and A5.

MH at 2016-04-17 17:17:41

Almost goal number 2 by A11 as free kick just goes wide.

MH at 2016-04-17 17:16:07

Yellow CardAnd it is after a challenge  by CP28 0n A17. Denying a promising attack.

MH at 2016-04-17 17:15:02

That could be the first yellow card?????

MH at 2016-04-17 17:14:35

Correct foul given after a careless challenge on A45,

MH at 2016-04-17 17:12:49

Quick attack by Arsenal, good to see RE keep up with play.

MH at 2016-04-17 17:10:59

Correct free kick given to Arsenal. Pleasing to see RE staying out only stepping in when he has to.

MH at 2016-04-17 17:09:29

This is like a pre-season friendly. Looks like CP players don’t want to get involved in challenges with their FA Cup semi final coming up.

MH at 2016-04-17 17:07:22

I think the crowd need to get involved and lift this game.

MH at 2016-04-17 17:03:04

CP to get the second half underway.

MH at 2016-04-17 16:50:01

A very easy game for the referee, nothing of great consequence to talk about in this game. As Arsenal scored just on half time I think the game will go up a gear in the second half. Lets hope so. I think Leicester V West Ham had all the incidents.

MH at 2016-04-17 16:48:00

Half Time

MH at 2016-04-17 16:47:34

Bad error by CP defence, excellent ball in by A23, headed in well by A17.

MH at 2016-04-17 16:46:21

MH at 2016-04-17 16:46:01

An additional 2 minutes added time.

MH at 2016-04-17 16:45:03

Correct foul given on CP42.

MH at 2016-04-17 16:43:22

Chance for Arsenal, good save by the Palace keeper.

MH at 2016-04-17 16:42:24

A5 has gone to block the ball with CP6, both feet up agreed with RE decision.

MH at 2016-04-17 16:38:24

Correct free kick given on A23.

MH at 2016-04-17 16:34:00

At present no problem with Rogers movement as the game is not demanding, he is sticking to a central pattern but would like to see him go a bit wider at times.

MH at 2016-04-17 16:30:17

RE just making sure the ball was in the ark of the corner.

MH at 2016-04-17 16:28:55

Corner to Arsenal. This game needs a goal.

MH at 2016-04-17 16:28:27

Good recognition by RE on challenge by CP23 on A17, no foul given correct.

MH at 2016-04-17 16:27:05

CP27 taking a big risk when challenging A6 in the area.

MH at 2016-04-17 16:25:35

Was that a foul on RE by the Arsenal player as he gets knocked to the ground……..No play on. Good to see RE smile.

MH at 2016-04-17 16:24:35

Good flag by RW to indicate offside. Good advantage played by RE as the ball was in the Goalkeepers hands and the assistant was correct to indicate offside.

MH at 2016-04-17 16:22:13

Assistant MS correct to indicate a free kick to Arsenal.

MH at 2016-04-17 16:21:32

As I said in my pre-match notes the referee will get a chance to stamp his authority on the game. This was a chance.

MH at 2016-04-17 16:20:13

A late challenge by CP7 on A34, bordering on reckless, free kick given. Would of liked to of seen RE speak to the player warning him of his future conduct.

MH at 2016-04-17 16:18:23

RE will be very happy with the first 15 minutes as there is no intensity to the game at present making it easy to referee for the officials.

MH at 2016-04-17 16:14:18

Correct offside by RW.

MH at 2016-04-17 16:11:35

Just going back to the small foul by A24 for the small shirt pull, it was pleasing to see RE manage the incident by going along side and speaking to the player.

MH at 2016-04-17 16:09:56

Remember to tune into tomorrows ref show where we will be talking about the weekends controversies which there is plenty to talk about.

MH at 2016-04-17 16:05:51

RE correct in picking up a small foul by A24 when he slightly pulled at the shirt of CP player.

MH at 2016-04-17 16:04:31

Pleasing to see RW fully concentrating to see the ball had gone out.

MH at 2016-04-17 16:00:34

Arsenal to get us underway.

MH at 2016-04-17 15:56:49

Good afternoon and welcome to the second of our live Ref Cam games the London derby between Arsenal and Crystal Palace which I am sure will be a fascinating encounter , always packed with incident and controversy as there first encounter was earlier in the season where Francis Coqlelin was rather fortunate to stay on the pitch. Arsenal need to win to cement their place in the Champions League whilst Palace with an FA Cup semi final looming with Watford will be looking for 3 points to pull away from the relegation pack. This is a massive game for our referee today Roger East, as 2 of our top referees Mark Clattenburg and Martin Atkinson are not allowed to referee this weekend as they are away on Monday with UEFA undergoing their fitness test for the Euro Championships. It will be very important for Roger to stamp his authority on this game when he gets the opportunity and he will get that opportunity. He will have to set his tolerance levels high with challenges otherwise we will have a string of cards. Roger has refereed 21 games to date showing 60 yellow cards at an average of 2.8 per game and no red cards. He will be assisted by Richard West (technical side), Mark Scholes and the experience of Mike Dean as his 4th official, who I thought was outstanding in yesterdays Man City V Chelsea clash. Lets hope the ball runs kindly for our officials today.
