KH at 2014-06-12 21:58:28 One of the positive aspects of the referee has been his management of time. You saw him jog alongside Naymar to ensure that there was no delay with the substitution. He was again very active when a player went down with alleged cramp.Four minutes added time indicated and we have had 4.42 minutes Now the debate on those big decisions Illegal use of elbow by Neymar……gets a yellow not a red and then scores!! Was it a penalty ..yes it looked harsh, but look where the defenders hands were. His opponent went down easily…referee in good position pointed to the penalty mark your view please on the referees performance to firstname.lastname@example.org
KH at 2014-06-12 21:50:58 Well we are now moving towards the end of the game and the two big talking points will be the illegal use of the elbow and the award of the penalty kick to Brazil. Keep your views coming in…..if you think that the referee got it wrong then give me your view Goal Brazil 3 Croatia 1
KH at 2014-06-12 21:48:27 Late substitution by Brazil.
KH at 2014-06-12 21:45:47 Referee correct to disallow Croatia goal. The goalkeeper had both feet off the ground inside his goal area when he was fouled by Croatia player
KH at 2014-06-12 21:43:57 Advantage to Croatia signalled by the referee Goal in the Brazil net. Disallowed for what appears to be a foul challenge on the goalkeeper
KH at 2014-06-12 21:42:14 Ten minutes plus any added time. A very good display of fitness from the referee who has clearly prepared well. At times in this game he has left the scene of play to take up a forward position a little too quick. He needs to delay his break slightly
KH at 2014-06-12 21:40:04 Good decision by the referee to award a corner kick. Squeezed play to put himself in a good position to make the correct decision
KH at 2014-06-12 21:37:59 Croatia making another substitute
KH at 2014-06-12 21:37:14 The referee must step up a gear now and improve his proximity to play. With players going to ground rather easily he needs to be ware of potential simulation that can create a negative reaction from players at this stage of the game
KH at 2014-06-12 21:33:35 My view on the penalty kick which might appear to be harsh. ask yourself why has the defender got his arms raised around his opponent. Let me know what you think…….would you have awarded it?
KH at 2014-06-12 21:31:58 Brazil take the lead from the penalty kick. Interesting run up by the player taking the kick. Whats your view on the Penalty kick award? Let me have your views on email@example.com
KH at 2014-06-12 21:30:28 Penalty kick awarded – referee correct in my opinion, although player goes down rather easily. Yellow card issued
KH at 2014-06-12 21:28:20 Second substitution for Brazil.
KH at 2014-06-12 21:26:52 Foul – referee spot on with a yellow card for a reckless challenge. Spray can in use again……I love it. Come on Premier league lets see it introduced for the start of the new season. It is in my opinion a great aid to the referee
KH at 2014-06-12 21:25:04 Take a look at the positioning of the referee at long kicks from the goalkeeper. He is positioning himself very well monitoring the dropping zone. just what is needed
KH at 2014-06-12 21:23:01 Brazil Substitution
KH at 2014-06-12 21:22:17 Well was that a foul on the Croatia player has he headed for goal. If the referee had blown then the denial of an Obvious Goal Scoring Opportunity would have come into play What is your opinion.. send us your opinion to firstname.lastname@example.org
KH at 2014-06-12 21:20:40 Croatia make a substitute.
KH at 2014-06-12 21:20:13 The temperature in the game is rising and with some fatigue coming into the game the referee needs to tighten his control He can achieve this by slowing things down through managing stoppages etc
KH at 2014-06-12 21:18:46 Appeals for a foul by Croatia. Close call but referee in a great position Manager of Brazil raising a hand to publicly say to the referee that he wanted to see a card
KH at 2014-06-12 21:15:45 The referee is clearly very fit and has when appropriate applied an explosive sprint to maintain good contact with the game. He continues to remain alert with very good awareness and alertness.
KH at 2014-06-12 21:14:07 Good free kick for foul
KH at 2014-06-12 21:13:21 Referee awards a free kick to Brazil for handball by Croatia. The replay clearly shows that there was NO offence. Yes there was not a deliberate handball. Therefore no offence
KH at 2014-06-12 21:11:54 I really did like the positive signal from the assistant to indicate the foul
KH at 2014-06-12 21:11:14 A small point for the young referees who have joined us. Take a look at the positive arm signals from the referee. Holding then for a number of seconds to ensure players see the direction of his award.
KH at 2014-06-12 21:09:34 another big push by a Brazil player on an opponent not punished by the referee
KH at 2014-06-12 21:08:37 Holding offence not punished by the referee who in fairness was jun a good position
KH at 2014-06-12 21:07:48 Thd second half is underway and I have no doubt that both teams have been given that stimulating talk by their respective Coaches. This is where the referee needs to come out from his dressing room with heightened levels of awareness for any foul play. A player who might have received some harsh words from his manager could take his frustration out on an opponent
KH at 2014-06-12 21:05:33 Amazing how former players play down this incident involving the illegal use of the arm The reason I detected it straight away was the excellent camera shot that showed how Neymar glanced at his opponent before using his arm an illegal manner.
KH at 2014-06-12 21:03:11 The referee and his team of officials will be discussing in detail how the game has gone. They will be taking on board the appropriate sport drink to replace some of the nutrients they have lost through excessive sweating in the first half. A check on the spray can to ensure that it is topped up. What is your opinion on the use of the spray can Please send me your comments to email@example.com
KH at 2014-06-12 20:58:52 One of the great difficulties for referees when officiating a big game, particularly this one, is trying to maintain a balance between an event and the laws of the game. This is probably the reason why a red card was not produced. However this game sets the standard for the games to follow. Players might think that they can get away with similar action in future games.
KH at 2014-06-12 20:51:11 End of the first half and the main talking point for me was that illegal use of the elbow. So how do you think that the game is going for the referee. please send me your views to firstname.lastname@example.org
KH at 2014-06-12 20:47:58 2 minutes additional time
KH at 2014-06-12 20:46:16 Offside decision and a great call by the Assistant referee. The TV graphics are also great and show the level of exposure that the official has when making his decisions on offside
KH at 2014-06-12 20:44:12 Here comes a set piece free kick and the use of the vanishing spray. Its a terrific aid…look at the players standing still in the wall Its a terrific aid to officiating – reducing lost time at set piece free kicks
KH at 2014-06-12 20:42:31 Please take a look at the positioning of the referee. Scientific research indicates that approx 20m is the ideal distance from the ball for the referee to make decisions. My opinion is that I would like the referee to squeeze play a little more and get closer to the play.
KH at 2014-06-12 20:39:50 Send me your views on that use of the elbow to email@example.com
KH at 2014-06-12 20:38:46 The Brazil Manager getting a little more active in the Technical area showing his displeasure at a throw in decision.
KH at 2014-06-12 20:36:09 There is no doubt that this is a big occasion and the referee is expected to manage this big event. We all want to see 22 players on the field of play. This however has to be balanced against the application of the laws of the game. I understand that the referees have been reminded of the need to be strong on rough challenges. The elbow is a weapon and referees must take the appropriate action. Here comes another corner to Croatia
KH at 2014-06-12 20:32:30 This player should not have been on the field of play having committed a red card offence by the deliberate use of an arm and elbow on an opponent. A poor mark for the referee on this one
KH at 2014-06-12 20:31:25 This referee to his credit has a terrific sprint There you go….GOAL for Brazil and Neymar. Should he have been on the field to score it….lucky man.
KH at 2014-06-12 20:30:03 Not a good challenge from Neymar…well he gets a yellow from the Referee For me that is a clear RED CARD for the deliberate use of an elbow on an opponent. You see the player look at his opponent and then elbow him
KH at 2014-06-12 20:28:13 When we look at the referees positioning he is tending to be ahead of the game rather than following it out of defence. This at times his causing him to have his back to his assistant on the main stand side.
KH at 2014-06-12 20:26:38 Slight concern with the Assistant referee on the far side of the field. i notice that when he is walking up the touchline his flag is not been held down in a still position. He is moving it has he walks which could be a distraction to the referee
KH at 2014-06-12 20:24:24 You referees out there take a look at the head movement of the referee where he is looking and using his cognitive skills to guess where the ball might be played. 21.42.. was that ball over the goal line for a goal kick – very close on the replay
KH at 2014-06-12 20:22:20 Another corner and great to see very little grappling has the ball entered the penalty area.
KH at 2014-06-12 20:20:45 Referee close to the action applies an advantage. Good signal – positive decision underpinning his desire to let the game breathe. This will add to spectators enjoyment but might result in some player indiscipline later in the game
KH at 2014-06-12 20:16:42 It is interesting to see the referee communicating to players off the ball. This he is doing through body language and facial expressions.
KH at 2014-06-12 20:13:31 Many thanks for joining us live on REFCAM. The opening stages of this massive game is a test for any referee. He is moving well with play maintaining good contact Croatia have stunned everyone in the stadium scoring the opening goal of the tournament. I am sure that it will be recorded has an own goal
