2017 MLS Cup final

FINAL SCORE: 2 – 0

the game was played fair by the players. The referee kept it low profile by controlling the game without excitement. I questioned 1 or 2 offside calls but overall Toronto deserved the game as they dominated Seattle Sounders.

Today no VAR was used as it was not necessary. it is a good sign. The TV footage did not show the referee given a card to TOR for removing the shirt at the goal celebration. Chapman used his fitness and mobility adequately and it was nice to watch the game flow. Well done to the teams and PRO referees for the great effort during the whole season. They offered a lot of training to the referees and support throughout the season. Nice finishing of 2017.

See you back for the 2018 season!

NO VAR for the first half.

The renowned former English Premier League, UEFA and FIFA referee and current Professional Referee Organization Manager of Video Assistant Referee Operations Howard Webb, told MLSsoccer.com in an interview last week that, although the system is still in its infancy, he feels Video Review has been almost entirely positive for MLS.

The video review system has been used 46 times in 149 MLS regular season and Audi 2017 MLS Cup Playoff matches so far, good for about one review every three games

This is the BIG MLS game. A Revenge v Repeat from last year final.

Last year MLS Cup was disputed at the same BMO stadium in Toronto and with the same two teams. Seattle won that game, so the pressure is on Toronto!

I do believe Toronto has a home advantage and they are determined to win this game.

Toronto had an excellent season but a difficult playoff. Seattle did really well dutring the playoffs
